Summer Crew Lead

Cribit Seeds and Wintermar Grains are divisions of Wintermar Farms (1989) Ltd., owned by five members of the Martin family and located 8 km north of Waterloo in beautiful Woolwich Township. We are SeCan members and a seed processing location for Dekalb brand soybeans. Whole grains are roasted and flaked for food uses. More info at www.cribit.com

Scope: To provide support to various aspects of Cribit Seeds and Wintermar Grains including: marketing, customer service, research and other farm related activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installing field signs on seed customer and contract growers fields

• Yard and site maintenance

• Seed deliveries in spring and during the summer cover crop season

• Assisting other staff with preparations for summer meetings and plot tours

• Helping prepare seed for the research plots

• Helping with planting, maintenance and harvest of research plots

• Soil sampling and seed field rouging

• Acting as ‘Crew Lead’ for other summer students

• Any other task assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Positive workplace attitude

• Be an engaged team member with good communication skills

• Ability to work independently

• Must have a valid G class license with a clean driving record

• Available May- August 2019

• No agriculture experience required
